Online Learning Update: April 8th
It has been great to see that many or our grade 8 students have already logged into the Hub and have been completing activities and even submitting assignments. We just wanted to update you and provide some reminders. First, please remember that Mrs. Dickenson and Mrs. Rashid each have their own Hub course so please remember to access both courses to ensure that you are participating in Literacy, Math and Science Activities. For students from 8A, Mrs. Hughey's Language course continues to be through Seesaw. Also, Mrs. McLeod and Mademoiselle Ruetter now have Music and French courses running on the Hub as well. Directions for accessing the Hub are below. Scroll to the bottom to view Ministry and Board Resources.
Access the Hub for Online Learning
You can now begin learning on the Hub. Login to the Hub through the HWDSB student homepage. When you first login to the Hub you will likely be in the Learning Commons. From here you will click on the waffle (nine dot icon) to select the course you wish to access. All grade 8 students will access Math and Science activities from Mrs. Rashid's course: HR8-8C-Homeroom8- Karen Rashid (1920). Students from 8B (Mrs. Dickenson's homeroom) and 8C (Mrs. Rashid's homeroom) can access Language, History, and Geography activities through Mrs. Dickenson's Hub Course: 9Lan8-8B-Language Grade 8 Jennifer Dickenson (1920)
As of the morning of Thursday, April 2nd you can access first Science Lesson as well as a Hub Scavenger Hunt to become familiar with the tools we will be using on the Hub. More activities will continue to be added over the next couple of days with the expectation that all subjects will be active and students will begin working by Monday, April 6th

Spread the Word: Online learning coming to the Hub
In the next few days, Mrs. Rashid and Mrs. Dickenson will be setting up the Hub so that we can continue our learning from home. While we are getting ready to post your lessons and assignments we need all of our learners to log into the Hub and find your classes. Note, that when you login you will more than likely be in the learning commons home page. You will need to select your course from the 9 dot waffle. Math and Science will be in Mrs. Rashid's course; and Language, Geography, etc. with Mrs Dickenson's course. Make sure that you are in 19/20 courses for this year. If you need help, please feel free to email us.
